HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – August 10, 2021 – Hollister Police arrested Bobby Viramontes (19-years-old) for the attempted murder of a 21-year-old Hollister man.
On August 8, 2021 around 10:24 pm officers received a call of shots fired on Circle Court. Officers responded and found the victim, a 21-years-old man, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered medical assistance until the Hollister Fire Department and paramedics arrived. He was taken to a local trauma center where he is being treated for his injuries and is currently in critical condition.
The Hollitser Police Detectives responded to the crime scene to process the scene for any potential evidence. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that there had been an argument between the victim and Bobby Viramontes when the shots were heard.
Detectives have prioritized this case, have been following leads and attempting to locate the suspect. They developed information the suspect might have fled to the Los Banos, CA area.
On August 10, 2021, Hollister Police detectives along with San Benito County Sheriff’s Office and Los Banos Police Department tracked Viramontes to the area of Illinois Ave in Los Banos, CA. Hollister Detectives were conducting surveillance of the location when they spotted Viramontes. Detectives and Los Banos Officers were able to quickly arrest Viramontes without further incident.
During the apprehension Viramontes was found in possession of a loaded firearm. Detectives transported Viramontes to Hollister, CA where he was booked at San Benito County Jail on the charge of attempted murder.
