Car Burglar Arrested and Charged with Various Offenses
SUBJECT: Motor Vehicle Burglar Identified and Arrested

ACCUSED: Justin Longstreet 30 year old male of Wall, NJ
NARRATIVE: On August 11th, 2021 Patrol officers responded to numerous motor vehicle burglaries in the Wanamassa section of the Township. Detectives Steven Walker and Chris Clune responded and processed the vehicles. Surveillance footage of the suspect was obtained from several residents throughout Wanamassa. During their investigation, Detectives Walker and Clune were able to identify the burglar as Justin Longstreet. Detectives Walker and Clune responded to several locations in Asbury Park where Longstreet was known to frequent and he was subsequently located on Lake Avenue. Longstreet was placed under arrest and found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Justin Longstreet was charged with several counts of Burglary and Theft. He was also charged Possession of Heroin, Possession of Hypodermic Syringes, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Contempt of Court. Longstreet was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institute pending an initial court appearance.
The burglary investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who was a victim of motor vehicle burglary during the overnight hours of August 10th into August 11th and resides in the Wanamassa section of the Township should contact Detective Steven Walker at 732-531-1428 ext. 2232.
