Deputies arrested Sam Schmetzer of Forest Falls for assault with a deadly weapon

LOCATION: 40000 Block of Spruce Drive, Forest Falls
SUSPECT: Sam Schmetzer, 35 years old, resident of Forest Falls
SUMMARY:
On August 12, 2021, deputies responded to a call for service in the 40000 block of Spruce Drive in Forest Falls regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. According to the victim, Schmetzer was upset the victim’s vehicle was parked in front of Schmetzer's residence. Schmetzer used his truck to pull the victim's vehicle away, causing damage to the victim's vehicle. The victim and Schmetzer began to argue, and Schmetzer produced a handgun and struck the victim twice in the back with the handgun. Evidence located at the scene supported the victim’s statement and Schmetzer was arrested without incident and booked into Central Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Schmetzer had two handguns registered to him and both were recovered and taken as evidence.
