Air Quality Alert until 03:00PM Friday
An Air Quality Alert for smoke has been issued by the following agencies: Puget Sound Clean Air Agency Olympic Region Clean Air Agency until 7 PM PDT Saturday. Air Quality is expected to worsen today and reach levels Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups in many areas in the Puget Sound region. We expect smoke to continue or worsen on Friday. Some areas may have higher concentrations for short durations if the Schneider Springs plume moves into the area. Smoke should begin to clear on Saturday, but could remain at Moderate for some locations. Wildfire smoke can cause serious health problems, like asthma attacks and heart attacks. Sensitive groups (children, older adults, those pregnant, or with heart or lung conditions) should stay indoors when possible to avoid the smoke. If you cannot stay cool indoors, find shelter elsewhere or open windows if needed. If you have to be outside use an N95 mask. To get the latest updates, go to www.pscleanair.org and www.orcaa.org
