Narrative:
A 37-year-old Highland man was arrested for theft and an arrest warrant.

On July 14, 2021, at approximately 12:56 p.m., Fillmore deputies responded to a theft of a purse that had just occurred in the parking lot at 650 Ventura Street.  A witness provided a description of the suspect and his vehicle.

On August 3, 2021, Camarillo deputies received a call of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot at 1659 E. Daily Drive.  Fillmore detectives heard the call and recognized the description of the vehicle as being similar to the vehicle from the Fillmore theft.  Fillmore detectives responded to Camarillo and contacted the vehicle owner identified as Ramie Fakhoury.  Detectives searched Fakhoury’s vehicle and located the victim’s wallet along with several other wallets and purses believed to belong to additional victims.

Fakhoury was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for theft and the out of county warrant.  Since Fakhoury’s arrest, he has been linked to other purse thefts in the Los Angeles area.  Fillmore detectives are collaborating with Los Angeles Police Department detectives regarding those thefts.
