Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing to assist El Monte Police Department with a shooting death investigation. The incident was reported Sunday, August 15, 2021, at approximately 12:16 p.m., on the 3800 block of Gilman Road in the city of El Monte.
El Monte PD received a possible gunshot victim call for service. When officers arrived, they found a man seated in the driver seat of his vehicle, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim is a male Hispanic 50 years-old.
The vehicle was parked on the curb line in front of a residence.
There’s no suspect information at this time.
