Smoke Testing
The city will have a vendor doing smoke testing of the wastewater lines starting today. This involves injecting an inert/non-toxic smoke into the wastewater lines to detect leaks, missing clean out caps, etc. This testing is required periodically by TCEQ.
Some of the vapor may get into houses if they have dry traps or broken plumbing. Also, may get some of the vapor discharge from roof vents. If the smoke is inside the house, the homeowner will need to follow-up with a plumber to locate the problem with their plumbing.
