INCIDENT: Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed with a Loaded Firearm
LOCATION: Mount Vernon Avenue/ Canal Street, Grand Terrace
SUSPECT(S): Jerome Fowler, 41 year old resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): The State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, August 16, 2021, at approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies assigned to Central Station conducted a traffic stop in the city of Grand Terrace. Deputies contacted the driver, Jerome Fowler. Fowler was on active parole out of the State of California and admitted to being in possession of a controlled substance.
During a parole search of the vehicle, an unregistered (ghost), loaded semi-automatic handgun was located inside the vehicle. As deputies attempted to arrest Fowler, he actively resisted arrest and fled on foot. Deputies gave chase and Fowler was taken into custody without further incident.
Fowler was subsequently placed under arrest for; HS11370.1(a) - possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, PC29800(a)(1) - felon in possession loaded firearm, and PC69 - resisting a Peace Officer. Fowler was transported to Central Detention Center where he is being held without bail on a parole hold violation.
