INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Hesperia Road and Mojave Street, Hesperia
INVOLVED PARTY (1): 22-year-old female (Driver) resident of Hesperia
INVOLVED VEHICLE (1): 2005 Honda Civic
INVOVLED PARTY (2): 27-year-old female (Driver) resident of Victorville
INVOLVED VEHICLE (2): 2019 Nissan Versa
SUMMARY: On Monday, August 16, 2021, at about 2:24 a.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision involving a 2005 Honda Civic and a 2019 Nissan Versa in the area of Hesperia Road and Mojave Street, in the City of Hesperia.
Through preliminary investigation, it is believed the Honda was traveling north on Hesperia Road and the Nissan was traveling south on Hesperia Road. The Honda traveled into the southbound lane of Hesperia Road, into the path of the Nissan, causing a head on collision. As a result, a 29-year-old male passenger of the Honda succumbed to his injuries while on scene. A 26-year-old female passenger in the Honda and the drivers of both vehicles were air lifted to area trauma centers to be treated for major injuries sustained during the collision.
Investigators from the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and assumed the investigation. It is still under investigation whether or not drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is urged to contact Deputy D.
