Flash Flood Warning until 09:15PM Tuesday

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina... Polk County in western North Carolina... Central Rutherford County in western North Carolina... Northeastern Greenville County in upstate South Carolina... Northeastern Pickens County in upstate South Carolina... Northwestern Spartanburg County in upstate South Carolina...

* Until 915 PM EDT.

* At 616 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 to 2 hours. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly as torrential thunderstorms moved from greater Greenville to Spartanburg into the Foothills of Polk and Rutherford Counties. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Spartanburg, Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus, Greenville Eastside, Greer, Taylors, Boiling Springs SC, Travelers Rest, Spindale, Duncan, Lyman, Landrum, Wellford, Slater-Marietta, Inman, Roebuck, Tryon, Campobello and Saluda.
