INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 73700 Block of Gorgonio Drive, Twentynine Palms
SUSPECT(S): Vanna Hightower, 33-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
VICTIM(S): Tyler Mintz, 24-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
SUMMARY: On August 16, 2021, at 3:18 p.m., deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station responded to the report of a female brandishing a knife and threatening employees at the Bowladium in the 73700 block of Gorgonio Drive in Twentynine Palms. Arriving deputies located and detained Vanna Hightower at the business.
During the investigation deputies learned Hightower brandished a knife and advanced towards Mintz while threatening physical harm. Incident to arrest, Hightower was searched and found to be in possession of the knife used during the assault. Hightower was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail where she is being held on $50,000.00 bail.
