INCIDENT: Vehicle Pursuit
LOCATION: Central Avenue, East of State Highway 71, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Andrew Johnston, 34-years-old of Riverside
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 4:23 p.m., Chino Hills Sheriff's Station deputies assigned to the Multiple Enforcement Team (MET) attempted a traffic stop on a black 2004 Nissan truck for numerous vehicle code violations. The vehicle was solely occupied by the driver, identified as Andrew Johnston, who refused to stop, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit began on Central Avenue east of State Highway 71, and concluded on Towne Avenue north of Philadelphia Street in the city of Chino. Johnston ultimately pulled over and was taken into custody without incident.
Upon a records check of Johnston, deputies learned he was on probation out of Riverside County and had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Johnston was arrested and booked in at the West Valley Detention Center for the pursuit and his warrant.
