INCIDENT: Burglary Arrest
LOCATION: 56700 Block of Twentynine Palms Highway, Yucca Valley
SUSPECT(S): Michael Deane, 29-year-old resident of Yucca Valley
VICTIM(S): Stoker Construction
SUMMARY: On August 16, 2021, at 3:15 a.m., deputies assigned to the Morongo Basin Station responded to an audible burglary alarm in the 56700 block of Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley. Deputies cleared the business, discovering the suspect had fled on foot prior to their arrival. Detectives reviewed surveillance video which captured the suspect outside prior to the burglary. Detectives positively identified the suspect in the video footage as Michael Deane. Further investigation found Deane was arrested by National Park Service Rangers on August 17, 2021, for an oustanding $25,000.00 burglary warrant from the Twin Peaks Station, case number 052101295. Deane was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and later transferred to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
On August 19, 2021, detectives executed a search warrant at the West Valley Detention Center for Deane's property held at the facility. Detectives located and recovered stolen property from the Twin Peaks burglary being held on Deane's property. Deane was booked on the additional burglary charge and is currently being held in lieu of $50,000.00 total bail.
