**Update 2:16pm** The incident in the 300 block of Santa Maria Drive has been peacefully resolved.

This morning around 9:38am, the Fairfield Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Santa Maria Drive to investigate a disturbance.  Officers developed probable cause that a domestic violence incident had taken place and the suspect would not come out of the house. 

The Fairfield Police Department’s crisis negotiation team was called to the scene.  After approximately two hours of negotiating with the suspect, he surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody. 
 
The suspect was identified as Carlos Gomez-Jauregui, a 31-year-old male from Fairfield.  He was booked into the Solano County Jail for domestic violence related charges. 

As this is an on-going investigation, no further information or mugshot will be released.  Those with information about the incident are asked to contact detectives at (707) 428-7600.
