Rancho deputies seek information about driver after pedestrian succumb to injuries

INCIDENT: FATAL HIT AND RUN TRAFFIC COLLISION
 
LOCATION: FOURTH ST/MILLIKEN AVE, RANCHO CUCAMONGA
 
SUSPECT(S): UNKNOWN
 
VICTIM(S): 57 YEAR OLD MALE OF OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA
 
 
SUMMARY: On Saturday, August 21, 2021, at approximately 8:18 p.m., deputies of the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department were dispatched to a report of a hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
When deputies arrived at the collision, CHP was on scene and Fire personnel were rendering aid to the victim.  The victim was transported by ground ambulance to a local trauma center for care, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Based on preliminary investigation and interviews, the suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored, older model Nissan Sentra, with a spoiler.  The suspect vehicle was traveling westbound on Fourth Street when it struck the victim, who was crossing Fourth Street from south to north.  The victim was not crossing the street in a crosswalk.
