On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, the newly established task force consisting of the Forest City Police Department and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Units along with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) assisted North Carolina Probation with a search at 125 Lark Lane in Forest City. Upon completion of the search, greater than three pounds of Methamphetamine, $14,197.00 in US Currency, Marijuana, Hydrocodone pills, Oxycodone pills, and Xanax pills were seized.

As a result of the seizures, Michael Irvin Hughes and Ricky Thomas Jackson were arrested. Hughes was charged with Level 3 Trafficking in Methamphetamine, 2 counts of PWISD Sch. II Controlled Substance, 2 counts of Maintaining a Vehicle or Dwelling, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Sch. IV, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Jackson was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Dwelling, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
