INCIDENT: Traffic Accident - Vehicle vs. Pedestrian
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Mojave Fish Hatchery Road

VICTIM(S): Frank Harvey Anagnos, 61-years-old of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at approximately 6:38 a.m., deputies from the Victorville, Hesperia and Apple Valley Police Stations, along with medical personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department, responded to the area of Bear Valley Road and Mojave Fish Hatchery Road in the city of Victorville regarding a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies and medical personnel located a pedestrian, later identified as Frank Harvey Anagnos, lying on the north shoulder of Bear Valley Road unresponsive. Despite life saving measures, Anagnos was pronounced deseased at the scene. According to a witness, Anagnos was seen in the center divider of Bear Valley Road before he attempted to cross north bound across lanes of traffic when he was struck by the involved vehicle. Bear Valley Road between Jess Ranch Parkway and Mojave Fish Hatchery Road remained closed for approximately 1-2 hours while the investigation was conducted.
The driver of the involved vehicle as well as the witness stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Anyone with additional information should contact Deputy T. Wetzel at the Victorville Police Station.
