DATE OF RELEASE: Thursday, August 26, 2021
On August 26, 2021, at approximately 2:38 am, West Covina Police Department responded to a call regarding a possible hit and run that occurred on the 1500 block of East Amar Road. Witnesses heard an altercation and a vehicle leaving the area. Upon arrival an adult male was found unresponsive on the ground in the rear parking lot of a shopping center. Life saving measures were unsuccessful and the adult male was declared deceased. The preliminary investigation revealed the adult male was involved in an altercation and struck by a vehicle. All parties involved in the altercation have been identified and the West Covina Police Department is investigating the incident as a homicide.
