LABOR DAY WEEKEND TRAFFIC ADVISORY 2021

TEMPORARY PARKING REGULATIONS; DETOUR ROUTES FOR THE 2021 LABOR DAY PARADE,

On Saturday, Sept. 4th 2021, the Boonton Fire Department will hold their annual Labor Day Parade beginning at 1:30PM. All Streets in the PARK SECTION including Chestnut, River and Lake, will be utilized to stage the Parade Apparatus and Marchers. Essex Avenue at W. Main Street and Morris Avenue at Rockaway Street will be completely CLOSED, from approximately 11:00AM until the Parade is completed. PARKING will also be prohibited on these streets. Residents are asked to utilize off street parking for their vehicles.

All of MAIN STREET , PLANE STREET, the 100, 200 Blocks of WASHINGTON STREET, the 100, 200, 300 blocks of GRANT STREET, OLD BOONTON ROAD and, LATHROP AVE will be closed from 1:00PM to approximately 5:00PM.for the Parade. PARKING along the portions of the streets described above will be prohibited from 12:15 PM until after the Parade. Additionally, Kanouse St. will be ONE WAY from Lathrop Ave to Park Ave Ext. with parking prohibited on Park Ave Ext.

Upper Plane St. Lot Parking: Also, the Upper Plane St. Parking Lot will be closed on this date (9/4/21) from 7am to 5pm due to the Annual Firemans Parade.

All vehicles must be removed prior to 7AM on Saturday Sep. 4th, 2021 or will have to remain parked in the lot until the conclusion of the Parade at or about 5 PM. Route 287 Access Information Exit # 44 from 287 North will be closed from approximately 11:00AM until 5:00PM. The DETOUR ROUTE for this and the Main Street closure is as follows: Use Exit # 45 onto Park Avenue, onto Wootton Street, onto Division, onto Boonton Avenue, onto Cedar Street, onto Highland Avenue and onto W. Main Street at Pond Bridge. W. Main Street from N. Main to Dells Village will remain OPEN. Access to 287 South will be available by using Myrtle Avenue.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS on the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of Monroe Street and Lathrop Avenue, The 100 and 200 blocks of Madison and Holmes Streets, and the residents of Maple Avenue: To Enter and Exit your Streets during the Parade, you must cross the Parade Route at Holmes and Grant Streets ONLY. Police personnel will be located there to facilitate safe and orderly crossing. Residents of Monroe, Grant and Lincoln St. south of Washington St. will have to Exit and Enter their Streets via Harrison Street. Exiting the Town from these locations will be via the Reservoir Bridge. Vehicles over 5 Tons, can cross to the Parade Route at Old Boonton Road and Lathrop Avenue.
