Flash Flood Watch until 08:00AM Thursday

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of Delaware...northeast Maryland...and New Jersey... including the following areas...in Delaware...Kent and New Castle. In northeast Maryland...Kent MD and Queen Annes. In New Jersey... Atlantic, Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Camden, Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean, Cumberland, Eastern Monmouth, Gloucester, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Salem, Southeastern Burlington, and Western Monmouth.

* From 8 AM EDT this morning through Thursday morning.

* The remnants of Hurricane Ida will pass through the region today and tonight. Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms associated with this low will result in widespread 1 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts by Thursday morning. Additionally, much of this rainfall may occur in a short period of time, exacerbating the flooding threat. Combined with wet antecedent conditions, this will lead to instances of flash flooding.

* Flooding of creeks, streams, urban areas, and poor drainage areas is possible. Water is likely to cover the roads, especially in low-lying areas. Roads and structures near rivers may be flooded.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NEW CASTLE ... KENT ... KENT ... QUEEN ANNE'S ... WESTERN MONMOUTH ... EASTERN MONMOUTH ... SALEM ... GLOUCESTER ... CAMDEN ... NORTHWESTERN BURLINGTON ... OCEAN ... CUMBERLAND ... ATLANTIC ... CAPE MAY ... ATLANTIC COASTAL CAPE MAY ... COASTAL ATLANTIC ... COASTAL OCEAN ... SOUTHEASTERN BURLINGTON
