Notice of construction and traffic delays at Camino Alto/Sycamore Ave intersection – August – September 2021
 
Project Summary

• The City of Mill Valley is upgrading the traffic signals, pedestrian and cyclist push buttons and sidewalk/accessible ramps at the intersection of Camino Alto/Sycamore Ave adjacent to Mill Valley Middle School.

• Construction has begun August 9 and is estimated to continue during the first few weeks of the school year through late-September.  The contractor will do their best to complete the project faster than the allowed time frame.

• It will be necessary to close sections or lanes of the road, shift bike lanes or sidewalks at times throughout the construction window to allow the contractor an area to stage equipment and materials in this stretch of roadway.

• Traffic detection cameras will be temporarily switched to timers, so there may be some traffic delays at the lights until the new detection camera equipment is installed.

• Pedestrians, cyclists, students and motorists should expect some delays at the intersection for the next few weeks during construction, detour paths will be provided for pedestrian access and lane shifts should be expected until the project is complete late September.
