Passenger Safety Month
During the month of September, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety will be looking a little closer at the safety of the precious cargo being transported around town. We want to express the importance that seat belts, booster seats, and child car seats are vital in keeping our friends and loved ones safe. Sadly, thousands of unrestrained or improperly restrained people are injured and killed in collisions every year.
Studies have shown that teen drivers have lower rates of seatbelt use than any other age group. We appreciate each other’s individuality and respect your agency to choose, but one thing that none of us should compromise is the safety of ourselves, our friends, and our loved ones.
We want you all to be reliable and independent seat belt users. Be an example to your friends and loved ones. It's never too late to reset and build safe habits together.
