* At 802 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. Numerous water rescues are ongoing in northern Middlesex County. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is already occurring. This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for northeastern Somerset and northern Middlesex Counties. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... New Brunswick, Perth Amboy, Somerville, Somerset, Edison, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, Bridgewater, South Brunswick, Sayreville, North Brunswick, and Carteret. This includes the following highways... New Jersey Turnpike between exits 10 and 13. Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 27 and 42. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 30. Garden State Parkway between mile markers 121 and 134.
