1:16 AM: Traffic Officer Johnson responded to a report of a solo vehicle collision into a gate in the area of Enterprise Dr and Wells Ave. Upon arrival, no involved person(s) were on scene. Officer Smith and K-9 Tio arrived to assist. K-9 Tio tracked the scent of the involved vehicle occupant(s) and led officers nearly three quarters of a mile away, locating two subjects hiding in a vehicle. Officers made contact with a 19-year old male out of Fremont and a 20-year old female out of Newark. Both subject confessed to being involved in the collision and the vehicle involved was towed.
4:39 AM: While on patrol, Traffic Officer Johnson noticed a vehicle stopped and impeding traffic despite a green light at the intersection of Mowry Ave and Cedar Blvd. Upon further inspection, the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel. After several attempts to contact the subject, the subject finally woke up and officers took the subject into custody without incident. The subject, a 23-year old male out of Miami, FL was ultimately arrested for DUI, DUI over .08 and driving without a license. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

6:28 AM: Officers responded to investigate a theft that had just occurred in the 7000 block of Thornton Ave. Officers located a 29-year old male nearby and arrested him for shoplifting. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
5:11 PM: Traffic Officer Johnon was on patrol when he on-viewed a vehicle driving recklessly in the intersection of Birch St and Robertson Ave. The vehicle was breaking traction with its tires disregarding the safety of people and property in the area. Traffic Officer Johnson completed a traffic enforcement stop and made contact with an 18-year old male out of San Jacinto. He was cited for reckless driving and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

9:40 AM: Officers made contact with a 39-year old male in the area of Newark Blvd and Jarvis Ave for an outstanding felony warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
3:09 AM: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle vs two parked vehicles collision in the area of Thornton Ave and Cherry St. Upon arrival, the driver was not on scene. Officer located a 26-year old male nearby. The subject was arrested for DUI and the vehicle was towed.

1:26 PM: Officer Soto was dispatched to a call regarding a subject stepping into oncoming traffic near Mowry Ave at i880. Officer Soto located a 36-year old male out of San Jose and arrested the subject for an active warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
5:09 PM: Officer Kapu responded to investigate a report of a strong armed robbery that had just occurred in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Loss was a purse.
5:55 PM: Officer Kapu responded to investigate a report of a cold robbery that had occurred earlier in the day in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. Loss was a purse.
5:59 PM: Officers responded to a report of subjects trespassing in a recently purchased home in the 36000 block of Colbert St. Upon arrival Officers made contact with a 46-year old male subject outside of the residence. The subject refused to comply with officers and fled inside the residence. While waiting for cover officers, the subject was observed walking on the roof of the residence. Officers were able to resolve the situation peacefully through de-escalation negotiations and the subject was taken into custody without further incident. The subject was ultimately arrested for burglary, obstructing a public officer and an outside arrest warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail. While conducting negotiations, a 56-year old female subject exited the residence, officers made contact arrested her for burglary. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
 
8:25 PM: Officers responded to a report of an assault in the 7000 block of Enterprise Dr. The subject fled prior to officer arrival. Officers were able to locate the subject nearby. The subject, a 37-year old male out of Fremont was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon (not a firearm) and booked at Santa Rita Jail.
11:06 PM: Officer Loiser observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and recklessly in the area of Cedar Blvd and Thornton Ave. Officer Loiser attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop, but the vehicle initially failed to yield, and ultimately yielded at Cedar Blvd and Edgewater Dr. Officer Loiser made contact with a 20-year old male out of Newark and two 19-year old males out of Newark without further incident. The driver, the 20-year old male out of Newark, was ultimately arrested for evading a peace officer and his vehicle was impounded. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail. The two 19-year old subjects were released on scene.

2:09 PM: Officer Kapu responded to investigate a report of a robbery that occurred in the 36000 block of Newark Blvd. Loss was a purse.
5:32 PM: Officers responded to assist a neighboring agency regarding a report of a subject walking along the HWY 84 fence line with a rifle. Newark Officers located the subject, a 39-year old male out of Hayward. Upon further inspection the rifle was determined to be a realistic looking BB gun. The subject agreed to turn over the BB gun for destruction. While conducting a search for the subject with the replica firearm, Officers made contact and arrested a 48-year old male out of East Palo Alto for possession of controlled substance and multiple warrants. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

4:44 PM: Officer Fredstrom responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Officer Fredstrom accepted the citizen arrest of a 64-year old female. She was cited and released on scene.

6:58 AM: Officer Torres investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 36000 block of Blackwood Dr. Loss was a laptop and radio.
7:09 AM: Officer Hernandez investigated a burglary to a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 5200 block of Falmouth Pl. Loss was tools and a car stereo.
9:21 AM: Officer Hernandez responded to investigate a report of a grab and run theft that occurred in the 5800 block of Jarvis Ave. Loss was $400 worth of merchandise.
3:08 PM: Officer Torres responded to investigate a burglary to a vehicle that occurred overnight in the 36000 block of Lakewood Dr. Loss was personal items.
4:49 PM: Officers responded to a report of a hit and run vehicle collision in the area of Newark Blvd and Cedar Blvd. Traffic Officer Johnson located the subject nearby. A 41-year old male out of Fremont was arrested for hit and run. He was cited and released.
7:03 PM: Officers responded to a report of a theft that occurred in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd with a subject in custody. Officers accepted a citizen’s arrest for a 27-year old female out of Fremont. Approximately $400 worth of merchandise was recovered. She was cited and released.

1:57 AM: During a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Willow St and Seawind Way, Officer Slavazza made contact and arrested a 49-year old male out of Newark for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.
3:30 AM: During a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Mowry Ave and Cherry St, Officer Riddles made contact with a 29-year old male out of San Leandro for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
11:58 AM: Officer Garcia responded to a report of unwanted guests in the 5000 block of Cedar Ct. Officer Garcia made contact with a 31-year old male out of Los Angeles was arrested for an outstanding warrant. He was issued a new court date for the warrant and released on scene.
1:09 PM: Officer Garcia made contact and arrested a 50-year old female for an active warrant in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
4:24 PM: Officer Warren was out on patrol when he observed a subject in a vehicle injecting a substance into his arm with a syringe in the 5000 block of Thornton Ave. Officer Warren made contact and arrested 28-year old male out of Hayward for possession of narcotic controlled substance. The subject was booked at Santa Rita Jail. The vehicle was impounded.

12:41 AM: Officer Rivera made contact and arrested a 45-year old male out of Union City in the area of Newark Blvd and Mayhews Landing Rd for possession of drug paraphernalia and displaying false vehicle registration.  He was cited and released.
4:04 PM: Officer Fredstrom made contact and arrested a 42-year old male out of East Palo Alto for an outstanding warrant. He was cited and released.
10:02 PM: Officers respond to a report of a fight in progress that involved an assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm in the 5000 block of Jarvis Ave. Both parties fled prior to officer arrival. Incident is under investigation.

1:10 AM: Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress in the 36000 block of Crystal Springs Ct. The suspects were unable to gain entry into the residence and fled prior to officer arrival. Incident is under investigation by NPD Detectives.

7:01 AM: Officer Soto recovered a stolen vehicle stolen out of San Rafael in the 6000 block of Overlake Pl.
2:37 PM: Officers responded to investigate a report of a package theft that occurred over the weekend in the 37000 block of Back Bay Rd.
3:31 PM: Officers investigated a theft of a catalytic converter in the 7000 block of Mowry Ave.
1:42 PM: Officers responded to investigate a report of a grand theft in the 2000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Total loss is to be determined.
