Flood Watch until 11:13AM Friday
The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
* Flood Watch for the Potomac River at Shepherdstown.
* From this evening to late tomorrow morning.
* At 12:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 3.9 feet, or 11.1 feet below flood stage.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Flooding is possible.
* Forecast...Flood stage may be reached late this evening.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet, River Road is completely flooded in low spots between Shepherdstown and Harpers Ferry. Significant portions of the C&O Canal towpath are flooded between McMahons Mill and Dam Number Four.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Water goes over the banks of the Potomac near the mouth of the Opequon River.
