Signs have been posted changing the detour(s). Many people when approached have responded, "What signs?" They are there...

Local traffic means you live on that street (local). PennDOT definition of local is not the entire township, next town over, or the entire Alle-Kiski Valley area. When the signs say closed to local traffic, that means the odds are very high you cannot get passed the end of that street or beyond whatever distance is posted from the sign.

Car Detour is PA 56 to Bonfire Shortcut to White Cloud Rd and finally back to PA 356 for northbound traffic. Just read that in reverse order if you are heading south on PA 356 from the Freeport/Sarver area.

PIPER ROAD IS NOT A RECOMMENDED DETOUR !!!

Truck Detour remains the same... 56 to the Tarentum Bridge to 28 to PA 356 at the Sarver (#17) Exit. If you are coming from Pittsburgh, Freeport/Sarver, or other parts, trucks must come across the Tarentum Bridge to 56 east.

PA 356 is completely closed to trucks from the Freeport Bridge to the work area. Any truck that is registered or weighs over 10 tons that drives past the signs and enters the area will be subject to enforcement. Any person who moves a sign, drives around a sign, or otherwise ignores the postings or directions of police/construction personnel, will also be subject to fines and prosecution.
