SADDLE BROOK BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Unfortunately, this storm produced flooding that can cause structural damage to your home.  If you believe that your home has sustained structural damage from water, contact Saddle Brook Office of Emergency Management at 201-843-7002, or during regular business hours contact the Saddle Brook Building Department at 201-843-7111.

If you find that any electrical outlets or your electric panel have been submerged in water, DO NOT attempt to use any electric or electric appliances in your home.

You are urged to contact Public Service Electric & Gas at 1-800-436-7734 and the Saddle Brook Building Department at 201-843-7111 to report the situation.

Likewise, if any of your gas appliances or the gas valves to those appliances become submerged, DO NOT attempt to use those appliances.  Contact PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734 so a PSE&G representative can evaluate each and every gas appliance affected.  

You can contact the Saddle Brook Building Department at 201-843-7111 for guidance.

Once the storm has passed and you have assessed your damages, you are urged to obtain any necessary permits for repairs that may be required.  Work may be started prior to the issuance of the permit, provided that a permit application is received by the Township within 72 hours of the start of the work.  This is your only assurance that the work done on your home has been performed properly and safely.  

The Township of Saddle Brook will be waiving permit fees for repairs due to storm damage.
