* At 2:46 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 12.5 feet, or 2.5 feet below flood stage.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 15.7 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight.
* Impact...At 16.0 feet, Water goes over the banks of the Potomac near the mouth of the Opequon River.
* Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.7 feet on 02/27/1972.
