Police Procession to Honor Corporal Kevin Mooney to occur on September 8 at 12:15 pm on Moraga Way through Moraga and Orinda
On behalf of the Moraga Police Department and the Mooney family, thank you to so many who have taken the time to offer words of condolence and support following the sudden passing of Moraga Police Corporal Kevin Mooney, who died on August 21, 2021 from COVID and related complications. Due to COVID concerns, Corporal Mooney’s funeral services will not be open to the public. However, there will be a law enforcement procession escorting Corporal Mooney to his final resting place on Wednesday September 8, 2021.
Members of the public are invited to honor Corporal Mooney’s service to our Town and County as a police officer and deputy; and to our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps by safely observing the procession, which is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. The best place to do this is along Moraga Way in both Moraga and Orinda.
