Flash Flood Watch until 07:00PM Saturday

The National Weather Service in Springfield has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of southeast Kansas, including the following area, Cherokee. portions of southwest Missouri, including the following areas, Dade, Jasper and Polk.

* From Midnight CDT tonight through Saturday evening.

* Rounds of showers and thunderstorms with torrential rains are expected tonight and Saturday as a cold front sits over the area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected with locally heavier amounts possible.

* Flash flooding will be possible, especially in low lying areas near creeks, rivers and streams.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CHEROKEE ... POLK ... JASPER ... DADE

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
