On 8-28-2021 at around 9:15 am, the Lakeport Police Department, with the assistance of The Lake County Sheriff's Office and Lakeport Fire Protection District, arrested Janis Lynn Martinez, a 38 year old Lakeport transient, for arson after witnesses identified her as having started a fire against the structure known as Old Natural High in Lakeport Parklands. She is believed to have also started a nearby fire minutes prior. Both fires were extinguished before any significant damage resulted. Martinez was booked into the Lake County Jail on the felony charge of Arson of a Structure. (Current California State Law prohibits the displaying of a booking photo on Social Media)
