INCIDENT: PC 664/187 - Attempted Murder
LOCATION: Cunningham Street / Baseline Street, Highland CA
SUSPECT(S): Joseph Nava, 23-years-old, resident of Highland, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential, 62-years-old, resident of Highland, CA
SUMMARY: Deputies from the Highland Sheriff's Station responded to the intersection of Cunningham Street and Baseline Street reference a traffic collision. When deputies arrived, they located the victim in the roadway, bleeding from his head, with significant head trauma. It was determined there had not been a traffic collision and Joseph Nava had assaulted the victim. Nava knocked the victim to the ground and punched him several times in the head. Nava fled the area but was quickly located by deputies.
Nava was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for the charge of attempted murder.
