08/02/2021      * 2 Arrests– Breaking & Entering Business / Fleeing and Eluding Officers
6800 Block of Whitmore Lake – An Officer received information on an in progress break in.  With the assistance of the onsite security professional and Michigan State Police– Officers discovered the suspects still on scene.  After a brief struggle with Officers the suspects fled in their vehicle pulling a trailer.  Officers were able to get the vehicle stopped on U.S. 23 at the Northfield Church rest stop where two suspects were taken into custody.  Both arrested suspects have been charged with four felonies.
 
08/02/2021      *Fraud – Unauthorized use of a Credit Card
9000 Block of Pine Cove – A complainant reported that two unauthorized purchases were made with a phone company.  At the time of the report no suspects were identified and the bank is working to reimburse the complainants account.  

**** Regular monitoring of your credit card activity will lessen the opportunity for fraudulent purchases.
 
08/05/2021      *Hit & Run
North Territorial & Whitmore Lake – A complainant reported that while stopped at the traffic light, her vehicle was struck from the rear.  After pulling over to exchange information, the driver of the striking vehicle, quickly drove off north on Whitmore Lake Rd.  The vehicle involved was described as a sea-blue/teal older model passenger vehicle with front end damage. The driver was a white male, in his 20’s with red hair.  Evidence has been collected and the case remains under investigation.
 
08/05/2021      *Fraud – Unauthorized use of a Credit Card
1300 block of Donna Lane – A complainant reported that after reviewing her credit card statement she observed two unauthorized purchases.  Review by the issuing credit card company revealed that both purchases were made on line. The card was cancelled and a new one issued.  No suspects had been  developed at the time of the report.
 
08/05/2021      * Disorderly Person – Attempt  Assault & Battery 
9500 Block of Main St – Officers responded to an aggressive disorderly person.  The Officers met with the owner of the establishment who advised that two subjects were causing a disturbance within his business, and when confronted one male subject swung at the business owner.  After escorting the subjects out, the subject again became aggressive. A patron assisted the owner in controlling the suspect who broke free and fled on a bike. The business owner was not injured and the suspect was unable to be located.
 
08/07/2021      *Assault & Battery / Driving while License Suspended
Anna Dr – An Officer responded to an in progress altercation between known parties.  Upon completion of the  investigation charges were submitted on two parties for Assault & Battery, Driving on a Suspended License and Malicious Destruction of Property.  The case is pending review by the prosecutor’s office. 
 
08/12/2021      *Larceny
Grove St & Elm – A complainant reported that sometime between August 11 at 7:30 am and August 12, 10:00 am an unknown subject removed the “Grove/Elm” Street Sign.  Interviews with surrounding homeowners were unable to assist in determining a suspect.  If anyone has information regarding the theft they are asked to contact the Northfield Police.
 
08/12/2021      *Hit & Run
100 Block of Garden Ct – A complainant reported that sometime during the night of August 12 to the morning of August 13, a vehicle struck his vehicle which was parked in the roadway.  The complainant did see an older red Ford Ranger-sized Pick Up pull in and out of his driveway, but the vehicle did not stop if it struck his vehicle.   The case remains under investigation.
 
08/13/2021      *Assault & Battery / Malicious Destruction of Property
Block of Main St – A complainant reported that during a child custody exchange, the unprovoked suspect became physically aggressive to an accompanying friend.  The suspect further caused damage to her vehicle window.  The case has been submitted to the prosecutor’s office pending charges.

08/14/2021      * Crash Investigation
East North Territorial  & Spencer Rd – An Officer responded to a vehicle that  struck a tree.   No signs of serious injury to the driver were evident and the Officer was unable to locate the driver of the vehicle.  The vehicle was impounded and notifications made.
 
08/14/2021      *Malicious Destruction of Property
Emerald Circle – A complainant reported that sometime on August 14 between 08:40 am and 2:20 pm, an unknown subject or item caused damage to a rear window of a Town & Country vehicle parked in her driveway. No property appeared to be missing and no witnesses or suspects were identified at the time of the report.
 
08/17/2021      *Road Rage – Assault & Malicious Destruction of Property
East North Territorial &  U.S. 23 – Officers responded to and investigated a road rage incident.  The investigation revealed that after illegally passing a vehicle, while stopped at the roundabout, words were exchanged and then a driver and passenger exited their vehicle to assault and cause damage to the victims’ vehicle window.  The suspects were identified and the case was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review of charges.
 
08/18/2021      *Fleeing and Eluding
Main & Barker  - An Officer on patrol observed two mini bikes being driven by two white males, driving in circles in the intersection.  As the Officer attempted to stop these vehicles they sped off.  The Officer pursued until the driver’s separated and then drove through a trail.
 
08/28/2021      *Trespass Notice Issued
100 Block of  Barker – After an employee expressed concerns about a patron, the owner requested the subject be trespassed.  The subject was identified,  located  and issued a trespass warning  by an Officer.
 
08/28/2021      *Hit & Run
Sutton Rd & E. Northfield Church – A complainant reported that while driving on Sutton Road, south of Northfield Church a Grey Jeep Cherokee being driven by a white male,  struck the rear of her vehicle and continued driving. The investigation revealed the driver and the  location of the vehicle. The driver possibly was having a medical condition, but was issued a citation for the crash.
 
08/28/2021      *Hit & Run -Road Rage
Avey Lane & 5 Mile Rd – A complainant reported that after observing a speeding motorist, the complainant followed the vehicle on his mini bike.  The driver then turned the vehicle around and drove back toward the mini bike. The complainant believes the suspect driver purposefully struck his mini bike. The complainant was not hurt, but there was damage to his mini bike. The vehicle was described as a smaller foreign type car occupied by four subjects. The case remains under investigation.
