Full Notification

On September 5, 2021, at 10:21 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a call from the Love’s Travel Center located 901 East 1250 South requesting law enforcement assistance with a person who was banned from their store and was currently causing trouble at the business.  Deputy U.B. Smith arrived on scene and located the suspect 52-year-old James Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Deputy Smith was familiar with Mr. Johnson as he was the officer who banned him from the property on a prior encounter.  After a brief investigation Deputy Smith placed Mr. Johnson into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Criminal Trespass.  He remains in custody on a $1300 bond. 
 
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
