Deputy Jon Melvin memorial service scheduled for Sept. 16

A public memorial service honoring Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Melvin will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Cave B Estate Winery, 348 Silica Road Northwest, Quincy.
 
Deputy Melvin, age 60, passed away on December 11, 2020, due to complications of COVID-19. It is believed he contracted the illness while in the performance of his duties. Deputy Melvin had served with the Grant County Sheriff's Office for 35 years.
