GARBAGE PICKUP MAY BE DELAYED TOMORROW-AREA DISPOSAL FACILITIES ARE AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY
The Hunterdon County Transfer Station has been overwhelmed by the amount of material being disposed of due to flood damage across this part of the state. Due to the transfer station's early closure today the start of garbage pickup will be delayed tomorrow morning. Please be assured that garbage (along with one bulk item) will be picked up tomorrow. If you are not putting out any trash tomorrow please pull your black cart off of the curb so that Department of Public Works personnel are not slowed down by having to check empty carts. Finally, due to the tremendous volume of solid waste being disposed of in the wake of Tropical Storm Ida, if you have bulk items that were NOT flood damaged, please do not put them out tomorrow-rather wait until the end of the month to dispose of them. Our area disposal facilities as well as our perssonnel are being pushed to the limit because of this disaster.
