Man Drowns After Entering the Water at the Colorado River
DATE/TIME: September 9, 2021 / approximately 3:55 p.m.
INCIDENT: Drowning
LOCATION: 500 Block of Beach Drive
SUSPECT(S): N/A
VICTIM(S): Allen Avalos, Age 41, Resident of Fontana, CA
SUMMARY: On September 9, 2021, at approximately 3:55 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a drowning. It was discovered the victim, Allen Avalos, entered the water at the boat ramp with friends. After several minutes, friends noticed Avalos was missing. Avalos was found and pulled from the water by friends. When deputies arrived on scene they began CPR. Paramedics arrived on scene and transported Avalos via ambulanceto the Colorado River Medcial Center in Needles. Despite life saving measures by deputies and paramedics, Avalos was pronounced deceased. Avalos was turned over to the care of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Division.
