COVID Alert
Today the City received notification that 8 persons on island have tested positive for COVID-19. As such the following measures are going into effect:
- Masks are required in all indoor spaces until further notice
- Testing is recommended, even for individuals who are vaccinated. Vaccinated individuals can carry and transmit the virus to others.
- City Hall will be closed to the public until further notice. Council meetings will be completely virtual until further notice.
- Travel to Adak should be avoided at this time. We are not reimplementing the travel permit process. Individuals should remember limited medical facilities exist on island, including a limited amount of oxygen available. There is no guarantee of medical transport off island as Anchorage hospitals are at capacity.
- All children and their parents
- Teachers
- Unvaccinated individuals
- Symptomatic individuals, even if vaccinated

Wear a face mask at all times indoors where other individuals may be present. Quarantine if symptomatic and obtain testing at the clinic. Avoid gatherings and travel at this time.
