During the week of September 6-September 12, two lives were lost to violence. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has investigated 90 homicides this year, compared to 67 this time last year.
For the week, there were 44 instances of gunfire. OPD officers recovered 14 firearms for a total of 836 this year. There were 35 robberies and 2 carjackings.
We must come together as a city to end the violence in our community. If you see something, say something.!!
OPD encourages residents and business owners to consider installing security cameras as well as alarms. These technologies can both deter crime and help solve crimes after they occur.
