SUBJECT OF RELEASE: One car crash with injuries.
DATE AND TIME: Approximately 7:18 P.M. on Monday, September 13, 2021.
LOCATION: Northbound US131 near W. Edgar Rd., Reynolds Township.

On Monday evening Deputies from the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle crash with an ejected driver who was injured. Deputies responded and assisted as EMS provided care until the driver was transported to the hospital. The investigation revealed that the involved vehicle had been northbound on US131 when the vehicle had lost control and exited the roadway causing the vehicle to rollover. The vehicle rolled multiple times and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, a 33-year-old man from Lakeview, sustained head injuries as well as injuries to the arms and legs. He was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by Mecosta County Emergency Medical Services.

Speed and weather are believed to be factors in the crash. Lack of seatbelt use is believed to have led to the ejection of the driver. This investigation is ongoing.
