School Disturbance
On 09/15/21 at 10:55 A.M., the Police School Liaison Officer (PSLO) observed a physical disturbance at Parker High School, located at 3125 Mineral Point Ave. The PSLO and school staff were able to separate the physical disturbance involving five students.
While attempting to de-escalate one of the involved students, that male became physical with School District of Janesville staff. During the arrest, the PSLO had to use force to gain control of the male. The school was placed into a soft-lockdown temporarily to mitigate the incident. During this time, classroom instruction continued as normal. Officers of the Janesville Police Department Patrol Division responded to the incident to support the PSLO and subsequent investigation.
As a result of the investigation, 4 students were arrested for Battery. An additional student was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting an Officer.
Pending the outcome of the School District of Janesville investigation, the District will follow its disciplinary actions for students involved per District Policies.
The incident has been resolved and the remaining student body is continuing on with their regular school day.
