INCIDENT: Unit Involved Minor Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: US Highway 395 / Bartlett Avenue, Adelanto, CA
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 08:31 PM, deputies from the Adelanto Station and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire and American Medical Response responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of US Highway 395 and Bartlett Avenue in the city of Adelanto. One of the vehicles involved was a marked San Bernardino County Sheriff's patrol vehicle.
Deputies determined the patrol vehicle was driving east on Bartlett Avenue approaching US Highway 395 with lights and sirens activated en route to a priority call. A gray Honda Accord was traveling north on US Highway 395 approaching Bartlett Avenue when the two vehicles collided.
Both drivers sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Both were later released from the hospital and are recovering.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Regional Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived on scene and are conducting the investigation.
The intersection of US Highway 395 and Bartlett Avenue was closed for approximately six hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses.
