One Injured in Motorcycle Crash
 
Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office is investigating a Motorcycle crash on Anderson Rd, near M 60 Highway in Howard Twp. of Cass County, Michigan. Initial investigation shows that on 9/16/21 at 2028 P.M., a motorcycle was traveling south on Anderson road and lost control in a curve then ran off the roadway and struck a brick mailbox. Frederick William Wogatzke 62 years old of Niles, Michigan was located unconscious with serious injuries. Wogatzke was transported by SMACS ambulance to Howard Township Fire Department and was then flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital for his injuries.  Deputies were assisted on scene by the Howard Township Fire Department, SMCAS Ambulance and Medflight. It does not appear that a helmet was used. It is unknown if Alcohol or Drugs were involved in the traffic crash.  This crash remains under investigation.
