Subject Arrested for Firearms Violations 
Suspect: Tovo, Viliami 18-year old male (In-custody)
On Sunday, September 18, 2021, at approximately 00:15 AM, Redwood City Police Officers responded to the Courtyard Marriot, located at 600 Bair Island Road, on a report of a subject with a gun. The reporting party advised RCPD dispatch the subject with the firearm was on the third floor. Officers established a perimeter and staged an arrest team in the lobby near the elevators. Shortly thereafter, Officers contacted a subject, identified as Viliami Tovo, in the lobby as he exited an elevator. A search of Tovo revealed a loaded, and unregistered 9 mm semi-automatic pistol concealed in his waistband. Tovo was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for several gun related violations.
