INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Mojave Drive / Amargosa Road
VICTIM(S): 74 year-old-male resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Monday, September 13, 2021, at 7:53 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station and rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of Mojave Drive and Amargosa Road in Victorville. Deputies arrived on scene and learned the pedestrian was walking outside of a crosswalk, west across Amargosa Road, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south on Amargosa Road.
The pedestrian was transported via air ambulance to Loma Linda Medical Center with major injuries. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
