A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 11AM today until early Friday morning
A widespread 1 to 3 inches of rain is expected across an area north & west of the I-95 corridor, with locally higher amounts to 5 inches possible. Much of this rainfall may occur in a short period of time, leading to the threat of flash flooding. One short range forecast model indicates heavy rain could be in the Hunterdon area around 4PM this afternoon and could lead to 2 to 3 inches of rain being achieved through the rush hour into the early evening.
Localized areas in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland have achieved pockets of more than 4 inches of rain the last 6 hours as this system moves from west to east.
