Antoine Ryans Arrested for the Attempted Kidnapping of an 18-year-old Woman

SUSPECT(S): Antoine Maurice Ryans, 44-year-old Apple Valley resident
VICTIM(S): 18-year-old female victim
SUMMARY: On Thursday, September 23, 2021, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department were dispatched to the shopping center located in the 12000 block of Apple Valley Road following a report of an attempted kidnapping.
Upon arrival, deputies determined the suspect, later identified as Antoine Ryans, approached the 18-year-old female victim and grabbed her arm. Ryans released his grip when the victim's dog nipped at him, allowing her to run into a nearby business and call for help.
Ryans was located in the area, arrested, and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for attempted kidnapping. A records check revealed Ryan is currently on parole, and was also booked on a parole violation. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on September 27, 2021, and is being held without bail.
