Tuesday, September 14, 2021
11:22 AM: Officers made contact with a 24-year old male out of Newark in the area of Edgewater Dr and Parkshore Dr. Drug paraphernalia was observed in the subject’s hand. The subject was ultimately arrested for possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.
9:54 PM: Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity described as a male subject attempting to open the reporting party’s locked front door and asking for money in the 5000 block of Portsmouth Ave. Upon arrival, officers viewed the subject down the street attempting the same reported activity. Officers made contact with the subject, 73-year old male, who was found to have multiple active felony warrants. He was arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail.

1:37 AM: Officers investigated a report of a vehicle that was stolen in the 8000 block of Peachtree Ave.
6:57 PM: While Officers were conducting DUI enforcement, a traffic enforcement stop was initiated in the area of Bluebell Dr and Rockrose Dr. Officers made contact with the driver, a 22-year old male out of Salinas. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license, registration nor insurance for the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. An inventory of the vehicle revealed two firearms, an extended magazine, as well as multiple controlled substances.  The subject was ultimately arrested for driving without a license, concealing a weapon in a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of an undetectable firearm, possession of acontrolled substance for sale, and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail. ⠀
11:43 PM: Officer Riddles and Officer Slavazza made contact with a 24-year old female out of Fremont in the area of Joaquin Murieta Avenue and Mowry School Road. The subject was found to have two outstanding warrants. She was cited and released.

11:38 AM:  Officer Garcia responded to a report of an unwanted guest in the 7000 block of Mowry Ave. Officer Garcia made contact and arrested a 28-year old male out of Fremont for an outstanding warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
5:30 PM:  Officer Soto and Officer Garcia responded to a report of suspicious activity described as a subject attempting to open vehicle doors, setting off car alarms, and throwing objects in the area of Shady Hollow Dr and Braidburn Ave. Upon arrival, Officers located the subject walking up to a vehicle that was parked in a residential driveway. As officers made contact the subject, a 62-year old male, assumed a fighting stance and reached for his waistband. The subject indicated he had a firearm and threatened officers. Officers gave verbal commands and ultimately were able to peacefully deescalate the incident. The subject was taken into custody. A search of the subject was conducted, and no firearm was found to be on the subject. The subject was arrested for obstructing police officers and challenging to fight in a public place. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

5:07 PM: Officer Rivas was conducting a following up in the 200 block of Newpark Mall Rd when it was reported that a 33-year old male subject had just been taken into custody for shoplifting. A records check revealed the subject had an active felony warrant. The subject was ultimately arrested for theft, an outstanding felony warrant and probation violation. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
8:56 PM: Officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the area of Mayhews Landing Rd and Haley St. Prior to arrival, one of the vehicles fled the scene. The involved vehicle was located nearby. Officers made contact and arrested a 31-year old female out of Newark for hit and run, DUI, restricted driver using a vehicle without an interlock, and driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.01 percent or greater while on probation. She was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

12:20 AM: Officer Slavazza conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Sycamore St and Mayhews Landing Rd. The driver displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. During the transport process the subject became combative stating he was refusing to go to jail. Officers were ultimately able to restrain the subject and safely transport him to Santa Rita Jail where he was booked for the following charges; DUI, driving with a license suspended for DUI  and obstructing a public officer.

7:33 PM: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 37000 block of Dahlia Dr. As officers were investigating, a subject arrived on scene by vehicle. Officers made contact with the subject, 45-year old male out of Newark, and it was determined the subject was driving while intoxicated. Officers ultimately arrested the subject for DUI. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
 
Wednesday, September 22, 2021
5:51 AM: Officers responded to a report of an in-progress auto burglary in the 39000 block of Cedar Blvd. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 32-year old male. The burglary was unfounded but a records check revealed the subject had outstanding warrants. The subject was ultimately arrested for two outstanding warrants and violating a court order. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
8:35 PM: Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 3000 block of Newpark Mall Rd. Upon arrival, officers made contact and arrested a 31-year old male for an outstanding felony warrant. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
