McDowell County Sheriff's Office has been notified that several citizens are receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be detectives or deputies with the Sheriffs Office, stating there are warrants for them and some are requesting money.
The McDowell County Sheriffs Office does not do this. If someone receives a call like this, please call 652-2235 and inquire as to the call.
At NO TIME will the Sheriffs Office call and request money over the phone. Citizens are also receiving calls stating they have missed jury duty, then requesting to meet or send money. Again, we DO NOT do this…. If ever you question, please call and ask at 652-2235.
