INCIDENT: 3rd Annual Steamboat Cove Underwater Cleanup
LOCATION: Steamboat Cove, Lake Havasu
SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 26, 2021, deputies from the Colorado River Station Dive Rescue team joined members of Mohave County Sheriff, Lake Havasu Police Department, Arizona Game and Fish Division (AZGFD), and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) divers, in the 3rd annual Steamboat Cove Underwater Cleanup. This event was hosted by the Lake Havasu Divers Association, Lake Havasu City Sea Scouts, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Thirty- eight divers and twenty-one land volunteers spent thirty-five hours and sixteen minutes underwater at the Steamboat Cove Cleanup. Underwater finds included anchors, sunglasses, old liquid bottles, aluminum cans, beads, towels, and other various articles of trash.
The Colorado River Station Dive Rescue team would like to thank the Lake Havasu Divers Association, Lake Havasu Sea Scouts, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for allowing our members to be a part of their annual cleanup.
